Europe [Apr. 22nd, 2006|09:09 am]
[Current Location |Rome, Italy]
[mood | but tired]
[music |CNN in the background]

I have been meaning to write in here all semester while I have been in Rome but the couple times I did try the site would screw up and lose all or most of my entry and so I finally just gave up on it.  But here I am trying it again before I leave on a mini European adventure.  Yesterday was my last day of class which I was hella excited about since I am completely drained of all energy right now.  I had a great semester full of amazing experiences and adventures and I have a zillion pictures to share with the world if anyone wants to see them at any time.  I have been to over 15 Italian cities including Milan, Venice, Pisa, Siena, Florence and of course Rome, my home station.  And now that I have conquered most of Italy its time to move on and conquer some more of Europe.  On my mini European adventure I'm heading back to Venice for a day and then to Paris for a few days then Barcelona then Nice then Genoa and back to Rome before I leave on May 2nd to fly back to the grand ol United States.  I have loved my time here but man is it time for me to go.  I cannot wait to see my family and friends and my pets.  Then of course there is the food that I miss.  I just want some real mexican, thai, seafood or any other type of food that is not readily available in Italy.  When I get back, I plan on giving my mom the biggest hug and then going home and rolling around with my dog and taking a snooze with my cat.  I just want my own bed, where I dont have to sleep 2 feet away from someone else, and I want my tv with all my good channels and my own shower and so much more that I cannot wait to get back to very soon.  Well now I must depart to finish my packing so that I can take it all to the airport for storage.  To some of you I will see you sometime this summer to others, I hope to see you this fall or sometime in the future.  And now I'm officially out like a fat kid in dodgeball.  Peace!

[music |melissa etheridge in my head]

Love is something everyone should experience in life,
But now it is reserved for only man and wife.
Who gave the government the right to say,
You can not get married if you are gay?
We always boast about freedoms galore,
Now laws are going where they've never been before.
Unalienable rights have been stripped away,
Starting a war between straight and gay.
We should change our ways before it's too late,
Before we become a nation divided by hate.

Gemini - Your Love Profile

Your positive traits:

Your lively, outgoing attitude attracts people to you everywhere you go.

You can talk your way into - and out of - any situation you desire.

You're adaptable enough to flirt with anyone - and people tend to fight over you.

Your negative traits:

You get easily bored in relationships, and tend to jump from person to person.

You tend to be a bit of a player - and have a high tolerance for drama in relationships.

Not the most emphathetic person, you tend to tell lovers to "get over" their problems.

Your ideal partner:

Is intelligent and quick witted enough to keep you interested.

Is a bit of a shape shifter, providing you with the variety you crave.

An open minded person, who's willling to have a non-traditional relationship.

Your dating style:

Exciting. If your date shows you a new experience (like Egyptian food or scuba diving), you're very happy.

Your seduction style:

Experimental: it's rare that you try the same thing twice.

Ultra kinky - you do stuff that's not even in books yet.

Hot and cold... sometimes you're just not into the whole sex thing.

Tips for the future:

Settle down a little. Sometimes good things come with time - so don't let people go so fast.

Acknowledge that you're a player and flirt. If your mate can't live with this, find someone who can.

Give your partner a little more attention. You don't have to be a social butterfly all the time.

Best place to meet someone online:

Match.com - enough sexy singles for you to find a new playmate when you get restless

Best color to attract mate: Sunny yellow

Best day for a date: Wednesday

You Know You're From Illinois When...

You know if someone is from southern, middle or northern
Illinois as soon as they open their mouth.

When you say "the city" - you mean Chicago.

You think ethanol makes your truck "run a lot better."

You know what's knee-high by the Fourth of July.
Stores don't have bags; they have sacks.

All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, or animal.

You think of the major four food groups as beef, pork, soddie, and Jell-O salad with marshmallows.

You know what "cow tipping" and "snipe hunting" is.

You spent a good deal of your high school nights hanging out at DQ.

"Vacation" means going to Six Flags.

You don't pronounce the "S" in Illinois like the rest of the world.

Whenever anyone mentions going out for steak, the first place you think of is Ponderosa.

You know more than one person with a septic tank.

You pronounce the invisible "R" in the word wash.

Down south to you means Kentucky

You have no problem spelling or pronouncing "Des Plaines"

You think Chicago is a completely different state from Illinois.

You know the answer to the question, "Is this Heaven?"

You know where all the Yoders live

Detassling was your first job

You've ever been on a "Geode Hunt"

Your idea of a really great tenderloin is when the meat is twice as big as the bun and
accompanied only by ketchup and a dill pickle slice

You learn your pickup will run without a muffler

When asked how your trip was to any foreign, exotic place, you say, "It was different."

You consider being called a "Pork Queen" an honor

People from other states love to hear you say "Illinois" and other words with "Os" in them.

Your dream vacation is a trip to Rock Home Gardens

You drink "pop."

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Illinois.

spring break... [Mar. 21st, 2004|09:36 am]
[mood | sore]
[music |sis talkin to kobe (her cute dog)]

so i'm still on spring break and will be till tuesday...cause i have decided not to attend my afternoon class on tuesday since i will be arriving into miami late that afternoon anyways and i still have to finish my studio project by wednesday morning...so anyways...i have had a really fun spring break so far...yesterday was probably the most fun i have had on spring break so far...i woke up at 7:30 and got all ready to go skiing...my sister and i drove about an hour and a half away from here to Lee Canyon which is north of vegas to the ski resort...we got there a lil before 11...we decided to get the beginners ski package since we both had never been skiing before...so we got our boots, skis and poles and headed out for our lesson...Bob, our ski instructor, taught us how to put the boots on and how to ski properly and to stop and turn and all that other stuff...after about an hours worth of lesson Bob left us and we were on our own...my sis and I skiied down for a lil while and then we grabbed some lunch and hit the slopes again...we of course fell a couple times but not while we were in the midst of skiing down the slope...we mainly fell at the end where we were being stupid and tryin to do the professional stop where they turn to the side...it was really funny cause i fell and then my sister started laughing so she lost her balance when trying to stop...so we skiied till around 3 and then we took off...and that was not the end of our fun-filled day...we then headed to Red Rock Canyon where my sisters running club was doing a run that afternoon...we were a half hour behind so we took off and tried to not get too far behind...it was soooooooo beautiful cause the sun was going down behind the mountains about half way thru the journey and it was just making the most scenic view i have ever seen...i could have just sat there for awhile and appreciated it...but nope we had to keep going...we were up and down thru hills and crossing lil streams...about 2/3 of the way thru there was the beer and water cooler...so my sis and i took a break and had a beer and some water and took in the view (i would have taken pics but it definitely would not have done it justice)...after we got done we took off to finish the last leg of the race...in the end we traveled over 3 miles...we met up with everyone at the end and we all sang and socialized for awhile...afterwards some of us went to a local bar/restaurant to eat and drink...after we all grubbed my sis and i headed home where we pretty much passed out from exhaustion...i was so damn tired and sore (and still am!) from the fun and action-packed day...and today we are off to the Strip to see the casinos which i have seen before cause well i come here at least once a year...but there are supposed to be some new things so we'll chill and go see those and try to relax cause tomorrow i think we are going hiking again...so im off to eat some breakfast and get ready for the last leg of my trip...laterz
